Highfield Ely Academy, our Special School in Ely, Cambridgeshire has received very high praise following a monitoring visit by Ofsted.
The school, which is currently rated by Ofsted as ‘good’, was visited for an ungraded (section 8) inspection on 14th and 15th May 2024, where inspectors found that “the evidence gathered suggests that the inspection grade might be outstanding if a graded (section 5) inspection were carried out now. The school’s next inspection will be a graded inspection.”
The inspection report did not identify any areas for improvement for the school, which is part of 澳门六合彩高手, highlighting the school's exceptional standards in education and overall pupil experience. This hugely positive report reflects the ongoing dedication and hard work of the school's leaders, staff, and the entire Highfield Ely community.
The report highlights several key strengths of the school, which has 123 pupils aged between 2-19, with a wide range of learning needs and disabilities. These highlights include staff having an excellent understanding of the varied and complex needs of their pupils, who, in turn, love attending the school.
Pupils benefit from a broad and engaging curriculum, with leaders ensuring it consistently matches the pupils' needs through effective checks. The school places a strong emphasis on reading and communication, providing pupils with vital opportunities to express themselves.
Staff are lauded for their ability to motivate pupils, resulting in exceptional behaviour during lessons. The school’s deep understanding of individual Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plans enables staff to expertly develop pupils' knowledge. The school also works effectively with parents and carers to enhance the educational experience for pupils.
