Staff and Students at Chantry Academy in Ipswich are proudly celebrating the news that they have secured another ‘Good’ rating, following a recent inspection from Ofsted.
The school, which is located on Mallard Way, Ipswich, was visited by Ofsted on the 30th April and 1st May 2024, where inspectors found the school’s overall effectiveness to be consistently ‘Good’ in all areas – a judgement which it has upheld since 2018.
The report commends Chantry Academy for its welcoming atmosphere, influential community role, and inclusive ethos. Inspectors noted high expectations for all students, including those with SEND, supported by the school's 'ready, respectful, safe' values. Students typically behave well, are polite, and feel safe, with significantly improved attendance.

Recently, Chantry Academy has seen remarkable sporting achievements, with its students emerging as prominent role models within the community.
Last month, both the girls' football squads, comprising year 7 and 8 students, achieved outstanding success in local and regional competitions, serving as inspiring figures for the local community due to their exceptional performances throughout the 2023/24 season.
Earlier this year, Year 11 student Tim Rafiu was selected for the GB Under-16 basketball training team highlighting his talent and commitment and establishing him as a role model the school and the wider community.
